Are these scalp conditions causing problems for you?

We often find certain scalp and hair conditions embarrassing for us. White flakes coming down on our shoulders, a considerable number of strands falling off everywhere or an urge to scratch your scalp every now and then obviously put you in an awkward situation. But the good news here is that all these problems come with a solution. You don’t need to be embarrass anymore because all the hair and scalp conditions are treatable.

Following are some of the common hair and scalp problems:

Dandruff

Our scalps go through a phase when there is a shedding of dead skin cells and in result you experience white flakes falling off. But if you experience a significant amount of white flakes coming off your scalp then for sure you’re suffering from another condition called seborrheic dermatitis. We commonly refer it as dandruff. It results when the yeast like fungus in our scalps gets activated.

This fungi feeds on unwanted residues of oil, dirt and dead cells present on our scalps. To overcome this problem, it is important to keep your scalp clean. Cleansing shampoos like Kerastase Cleansing Oil Shampoo are effective in taking all the unwanted residues out of your scalp and provide a healthy environment for growth.

Scalp Psoriasis

Sometimes we feel like having dandruff but in reality its scalp psoriasis. It is an autoimmune disorder that affects overall body skin including the scalp skin. In its result you get white flakes, scaly patches and severe itchiness. It often results in redness and soreness of the scalp skin. In this condition, you get such severe itchiness that it wakes you up at night with an urge to scratch. It is a severe scalp condition that leads to hair loss. An immediate medical attention is required in this condition.

Hair Loss

Hair loss is common in both men and women and there are several causes of it. Thyroid malfunctioning, hormonal imbalances, autoimmune disorders, stress, medications and nutritional deficiencies etc. are some of the reasons why people experience hair loss or hair thinning. It is recommended to first identify the underlying cause of hair loss and get it treated. Secondly, there are certain hair building products available. Toppik Hair Building Fibers for instance are effective in providing an instant appearance of thick and full mane.

Ringworm

It doesn’t mean you’ll get worms running on your scalp. It is basically a fungal infection that affects your scalp and hair health. You get an itchy and scaly patch in the form of a ring. That’s why it is named as ringworm. It is a contagious disease that can spread by sharing hats, scarfs and pillowcases. It can also spread from pets. Oral medications are usually recommended for killing the fungi causing such scalp condition.
