Why won’t It Just Work: Steps to take When the Dryer Doesn’t Dry

Remember the time this currently useless washing machine was delivered to your house. Yeah, the time you were unboxing and unpacking, planning the right place for it and all that jazz. Oh, and also how you threw away the manual the second it was in your sight. Didn’t even bother to at least draw or calculate on it, huh? Well, now, you’re probably regretting it. Congrats! But, uh, never mind, the team of advanced dryer vent maintenance services is here to help you out! All of the employees of Advanced Dryer Vent Cleaning Services have been trained by the inventor of the defender bird guard and the vent vision wireless inspection camera who also has over 40 years of experience in the dryer vent cleaning field.

So, now that they know your dryer isn’t working despite kicking it a few times (should have skipped it, don’t you think, buddy?) and throwing a tantrum over it, here’s what they suggest.

Take a look at the lint filter

This filter is supposed to be the first safeguard against lint, dust, and hair fiber. Now, not to be the person to repeat something you’ve undoubtedly heard before, but after each and every wash, you must always remove the dryer filter’s lint. Some clothing, especially socks, is fuzzier than others and thus also sheds more. However, regardless of the load, the practice of cleaning out the filter after every wash and dry takes your regular equipment maintenance and fire protection up a notch despite doing the bare minimum. The key cause of dryer fires according to the United States is the inability to clean up the dryer. So this step is unavoidable!

Inspect where the dryer vent exits the house

If the dryer works, the ventilation escape should be carried over by a continuous, unhindered stream of warm air. You should remove a mesh that can trap lint, block airflow and keep your clothes from drying entirely if you have mesh screening extending over them.

Install an acceptable louvered door, which only opens while the dryer works. You can buy one or have it shipped from Amazon in your local home center.

Check and clean the inner areas of the vent

Now that you’ve checked the lint filter and vent exit and there seems to be no problem with that, it’s time you clean up the inner areas of the vent. And though this isn’t a very difficult task, we suggest some advice to make it easier. It would be a good idea to get one of the rush kits designed specifically for this purpose.

Try shortening the exit and taping joints in the vent

Remember that your dryer must be as flat and as compact as possible with the exit ventilation. If the air that exits the dryer is forced too far, or if the kinks or the sides of the tube are pushed, the drying times will increase dramatically. This is not only an annoyance but also a waste of energy as well as money. If you could somehow, consider shifting your dryer to a shorter spot. Seal not only the interior but the exterior joins of the vent. This will prevent leakage of air and also keep the lint from getting stuck in such places.

Contact an expert to check the power source

The intensity of the dryer could be responsible for the lack of heat, whether that is gas or electric. If the gas, the load is not dried by a gas clothes dryer. In the meanwhile, an electric dryer connects to a 240-volt electric outlet that is also operated by two disruptors. If only 120 volts of component voltage are flipped and the unit, the dryer rotates but does not heat up. Review the circuit breaker and see if it has been problematic and call a specialist if an electrical fault appears to be involved.

And, of course, feel free to contact our team if something doesn’t work out. After all, Advanced Dryer Vent Cleaning Services in New Jersey is here to serve you in the best manner possible!
