Father of Missing Hawaii Woman, Hannah Kobayashi, Found Dead Near LAX

Tragically, Hannah Kobayashi’s father was found dead near Los Angeles International Airport (LAX). Ryan Kobayashi, 58, killed himself after looking for his daughter’s body nonstop since she went missing earlier this month during a stay in Los Angeles.

Hannah Kobayashi, 30, was halfway between Maui and New York City when she missed her connecting trip at LAX on November 8. Her last sighting was on November 11 in downtown Los Angeles, near the Pico Metro Station, with someone no one knew. Prior to losing all contact, she sent her family some strange and cryptic text messages.

Along with other people looking for his daughter, Ryan Kobayashi went to Los Angeles. He was found dead in a parking lot near LAX on November 24. Although the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s office stated that he had died, they did not say what caused it. The Kobayashi family released a statement crying out their deepest sorrow and asking everyone to keep looking for Hannah.

Families have been looking for Hannah by putting up flyers and asking people for help. Their description of her was that she was 5 feet 10 inches tall, weighed about 140 pounds, had brown hair and eyes, and had fair skin with freckles. Larie Pidgeon, Hannah’s aunt, stressed how important the situation was by saying that Hannah is considered to be in immediate danger.

Families Kobayashi have asked for privacy as they deal with Hannah’s death and their ongoing search for her. During this hard time, they have also asked the community to show kindness and pray for them.
