Entering the World of Vaping: 5 Tips for Beginners

E-cigarettes are a relatively new invention, but they have become increasingly popular. Roughly 10.8 million Americans now use e-cigarettes, and that number is only predicted to rise. If you’re new to vaping, you might be feeling a bit overwhelmed by the sheer amount of products on the market.

If you’re just entering the world of vaping, here are five ways to get all your vape simplified info:

1. Learn what type of device works best for you

There are tons of devices on the market and not all are made equally. Some devices require liquids, others need refillable cartridges. Those that require liquids are called open-system e-cigarettes, while those needing tanks are closed systems. There are also modified systems that can be altered to the vapers’ personal tastes, which are called Box Mods.

2. Learning to vape

When you vape, you’re essentially inhaling the vapor, but learning how to properly vaping with e-cigarette is important for a good experience. When you first get your e-cigarette, take a few primer puffs on it first so that you get a feel for the device and the nicotine levels. Do this by taking small puffs that don’t pull all the vapor into your lungs. This increases the vapor production and helps improve the flavor of your e-liquid.

3. Keep and charge your battery

Your battery has to be kept charged and be properly cared for to get the most out of your e-cigarette experience. Your e-cigarette uses a lithium battery that has to be kept clean to keep it working well. If you keep your vape in your pocket, your battery will get exposed to dust and dirt. To clean the battery, use a cotton tip to clean the terminal. Do this to the inner chamber walls as well to make sure there’s nothing that could interfere with the devices’ function.

Keep the battery charged to maintain a steady flow of vapor. Otherwise, the vapor and amount of nicotine dispensed will drop. Also, the lithium-ion batteries used in e-cigarettes need to be charged on a consistent basis or they will lose their ability to hold their maximum charge.

4. Maintaining your device

Apart from your battery, maintaining the rest of your device will save you a lot of headaches. A damp paper towel can be used to clean the clearomizer. Without cleaning the clearomizer, the residual build-up of e-liquid can cause leaking. Before cleaning the device, take it apart to so that the battery doesn’t get wet. Lithium batteries can pose serious risks if they are exposed to water and can spark, swell, or even explode.

5. Proper storage

Proper storage will help you keep your device in top condition for longer. Don’t store your e-cigarette on its side or upside down or it could leak, which will deplete your e-liquid. Instead, keep it upright. Keep your device out of direct sunlight and don’t expose it to extreme heat. The same goes for your e-liquids. Sunlight or heat could change the flavor of your e-liquid and sour it, or affect the nicotine levels.
