Gujrat Titans Ensured a Top Spot After Beating The Defending Champions

 

The aggressor Wriddhiman Saha gave a monstrous performance in the 62nd match played between Gujarat Titans and Chennai Super Kings at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai on the 15th of May 2022.


In their 13th match, Gujarat Titans defeated four-time champion Chennai Super Kings with ease. They now have 20 points after beating Chennai Super Kings, making them the unbeatable team so far.

 


The toss was won by Chennai Super Kings, who elected to bat first and set a target of 133 runs for Gujarat Titans, which they easily chased down. Conway and Ruturaj Gaikwad opened the innings, however, Conway was dismissed for only 5 runs on his 9th ball by Mohammed Shami. Ruturaj Gaikwad hit four fours and one six in his 53-run innings. N Jagadeesan smashed 39 off 33 balls, including three fours and one six. MS Dhoni, a well-known finisher, could not score in this match, as he was also dismissed for 7 runs by Mohammed Shami.

 


Opener Wriddhiman Saha, on the other hand, gave his team a wonderful start with an unbeatable 67 runs off 57 balls, including eight fours and one six. Gujarat Titans got off to a strong start with a 59-run partnership from openers Wriddhiman Saha and Shubman Gill. Wriddhiman Saha and David Miller concluded the match aggressively in only 19 overs after the dismissal of Shubman Gill, Matthew Wade, and Hardik Pandya.

 


Bowlers of Chennai Super Kings failed to perform against the Gujarat Titans, only baby Malinga Matheesha Pathirana hit two wickets and Moeen Ali one. It became impossible for them to stop the aggressive Wriddhiman Saha from chasing down the target and eventually, Gujarat Titans won by 7 wickets.
