Indian Wedding Ideas That Are Totally Awesome

What’s not to enjoy about Indian weddings? From beautiful and lavish Indian wedding cards to delicious food, drink, loud music, carefree dancing and a chance to see your friends and family. There is a lot of emotional significance embedded in the structure of the events and the rituals that are performed throughout.

Planning your own wedding makes you acutely aware of details at other weddings that previously went unnoticed. What’s more, you can use the information to help future brides. Quite recently, I had a wonderful time at my cousin’s wedding. While attending an Indian wedding, I was struck by how many unique elements there were. The details are as follows:

A Welcome Gift For Guests

The idea of a welcome gift or bag is fantastic. Suddenly, you find yourself receiving a present at the hotel when you check in for the wedding weekend. That’s right; as a visitor, you’ll be receiving a freebie. Sounds nice, right? This beautifully constructed gift includes water bottles, a recovery kit, some nibbles, Indian wedding cards and carefully personalized labels and packaging.

Individual Dance & Singing Performances

Fun choreographed performances are most suited for the sangeet or pre-wedding function. Bollywood and Bhangra are two forms of dance that all Indians like. Even though it’s a great joy to watch the dances, it would be excellent to have some variety in the program. A young man and woman can perform a beautiful duet during the sangeet. Or some other singing performances from your friends and family members.

Choreographed Dance For The Bride And Groom During The Sangeet.

A lot of Indian culture centres on music and dance. The happy couple can stand out during the sangeet by performing a special dance for the occasion. Of course, not everyone is born with a natural knack for the dance, but that shouldn’t stop you from giving it a go. Seeing both of them perform can be a lot of fun for guests.

Highlights Displayed On The Walls Throughout The Event

During the rituals, walls can be illuminated with a contemporary Ganesh design or photos and videos from past events. Spotlights and other low-key illumination make the already-intimate wedding space seem even more so. The concept is straightforward and novel, and it can be utilized at any reception by just changing the picture.

Mandap Chandelier

Chandeliers are becoming more common within mandaps as they continue to develop. I mean, how cool is that! To complete your contemporary mandap, just drape some cloth over it.

Customised Hashtag For The Wedding

A wedding hashtag can be created for visitors to use while posting about the event on social media. Using hashtags, attendees can capture the event and share their memories with the happy couple later.

Make Seating Arrangements Using Posters

Not only can posters help the environment, but they also take up much less space during cocktail hour. At our wedding reception, I used posters, and I was very pleased with how simple it was to personalize them. Make the posters in PDF format, then have them printed at a local print shop in the size you like. Pick either big or tiny frames, depending on your own preference and the number of expected visitors.

Captivating Live Music

Most weddings have decent music, but this one stood out because it had a saxophone musician who joined the Dhol players throughout the Baraat, the ceremony itself, the post-wedding ceremony, and the cocktail hour/reception. Additionally, a classy touch might be added by having a pianist perform some standard melodies throughout the cocktail hour.

Multiple Dining And Drinking Options During Cocktail Hour

When you have several hundred guests at your wedding, you need many food and drink areas. Indian cuisine and other tables with cheeses, fruits, etc. could serve as the focal points of the wedding’s cocktail hour. Everyone can eat and drink without waiting in line.

Midnight snack cart during the Pheras

The midnight time of the Saat Phere ceremony is a time when everyone feels hungry. Make sure everyone is satisfied by having a snack cart with warm munchies rolling around at midnight. This will be a great way to keep the guests happy during the time of the ceremony.

Consider A Request Box For DJs

Recall how at weddings, attendees would sometimes ask the DJ what song to play, or why on earth he was playing such old music. How come he can’t play that popular song? A DJ request box might help you prevent this chaos during your sangeet or wedding.

Write Down Your Tale Of Love

This is particularly intended for couples who want to include their loved ones in their wedding planning process. Don’t only tell them about your meeting, your proposal date, etc. Jot everything down so they can read it. Yes, write down every step of your wedding journey on a blackboard using colorful chalk.

Pay careful attention to what I’m about to say if you have a wedding to attend between now and the day you get married. You will discover elements you were unaware you needed to consider and get fantastic suggestions for your personal Indian wedding. Brides, please remind your husbands to listen!  Encourage him to notice the mandap style by giving him a little prod in the side throughout the ceremony. Most males don’t notice small details at all!
