So, would robots rule the human mind?
Not really. Today’s robotic generation is only doing the heavy lifting for humans.
Orange robots, flipping robots, car-driving robots, diving robots… these robots can do anything and everything that the humans can, and more.
On top of it, they can fit into a box, start working any time of the day, need nothing more than an hour of electric charge, and can complete the task at a pace of lightning. If you go to an Amazon warehouse, you would find thousands of robots placed on conveyor belts, sorting thousands of packages in one hour. They don’t talk, don’t fall or quarrel. All they do the whole day is sort packages, wrap them to conveyor belts and dispatch to delivery units for next steps.
So, would the humans vanish from the warehouses?
Humans would be up-skilled to perform complex, creative tasks that robots can’t be trained to do – or, sadly, they would be left to hunt other pastures where skill aren’t necessary to retain jobs.
In 8 out of 10 automation based manufacturing units; the Robots have taken over 75% of the jobs that workers used to do. Supervisors still remain. What do they do? These supervisors are entrusted with training and managing these robots, not humans.
In the light of things happening in the manufacturing sector, robots may have taken over three-fourths of the workforce, but the 25% still remains. This one-quarter of the human workforce is optimistic about competing with the robots and salvaging the pride of the human race. Not only is this highly skilled workforce delivering sustained levels of productivity but also striving for supervisor roles that would control the next generation of robots at the workplace.
