New Changes In IPL 2023

The IPL season 16 is expected to be very different from previous seasons. If reports are to be believed this year’s IPL will have new rules that have already made cricket fans more excited about the upcoming league.

Loaded with a host of surprises, JioCinema has taken the responsibility to telecast the live matches of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 in India for free. IPL 2023 comes with many changes and many new initiatives that promise to provide a seamless and fun experience to cricket fans. Let’s discuss some of the changes introduced in this season of IPL.

  • Old League Format

Before the COVID-19 pandemic hit the world, every IPL team used to play 7 matches at the home ground and the other 7 matches away. However, due to COVID-19 travel restrictions, BCCI organized the back-to-back two seasons of IPL under heavy pandemic protocols.

Teams used to play in tough bio-bubble circumstances, with no audience, less travel, and in compliance with the Covid protocols. However, IPL 2023 returns to the old league format in which each team will play 7 matches at home ground and the other 7 matches away. Moreover, every player and staff member must have a vaccination certificate to prevent the chances of the virus.

  • JioCinema Is A New Streaming Partner

As already mentioned above, JioCinema is the new streaming partner of IPL 3. It will telecast all the live matches of IPL in India that too free of cost.  Earlier, Disney+Hotstar was the streaming partner for previous IPL seasons. But, this year Viacom paid a whopping amount to BCCI to live stream the matches. However, Star Sports network continues to be the broadcasting partner of live matches on TV in India.

  • Multi-Camera Angle Live Streams

This is for the time first time in the history of the IPL, that viewers will be able to access multiple video streams of matches. This means you can watch different camera angles at once, all in ultra-high definition. Moreover, while watching a preview of other video streams, users will have the flexibility to choose the camera angle they are interested in or want to focus on. Isn’t it interesting for online viewers?

  • Wide Balls & No-Balls Review

One of the best rules of IPL 2023 is that players can review wide and no-balls using the Decision Review System (DRS). This rule was first time introduced in the first season of the Women’s Premier League (WPL) in 2023. And now it will be used in IPL 2023 too.

  • New Impact Player Rule

For the IPL 2023, BCCI has introduced a new “Impact Player” rule that gives flexibility to each team to substitute any of the 4 replacements for one of their on-field players whenever they want during the match.

However, the substituted player will not be allowed to continue playing in the game. Moreover, if a team includes 4 foreign players in its starting eleven, then the impact player needs to be an Indian. That’s all about IPL 2023. It will interesting to watch which team will lift the IPL trophy this season
